Logic & Philosophy of Science
Florence Group

Welcome to our webpage!

We are a multidisciplinary research group, with a wide scope of interests which include: Logic and its applications, with a stress on the formal and foundational aspects; Philosophy of Science, with emphasis on the Philosophy of Physics; History and Philosophy of Logic in the last two centuries.

  • Thomas Strahm (1965-2021): we are deeply sorry to hear about Thomas Strahm’s untimely death. Thomas had strong research connections with our group, and we had the pleasure to host his brilliant talks several times. He will be missed. A short obituary by Gerhard Jaeger and Thomas Studer can be found on the website of the Institute of Computer Science of the University of Bern, to which Thomas was affiliated.
  • An issue of the Rivista di Filosofia with a focus on the role and work of Ettore Casari is now available. Check it out!
